What these figures count

Outside the Paris region, the file is based on tickets sold. Tickets sold by anyone other than SNCF are not counted. A trip counts at both its start and its end.

The full SNCF file also has 96 stations at 0 passengers and 7 stations at 1 passenger in 2024. We leave them out. 90 of the stations at 0 and all 7 at 1 are no longer in SNCF’s list of passenger stations.
